Gunner is our very special boy, he is our first Show
Dog and our first Champion. He has one of the sweetest temperaments that
one can expect from a Great Pyrenees as well as one of the finest
Guardians we have come to know. He is my love and has been referred to
being “mashed potatoes with too much cream” - he is with people just
a “mush” which makes him a pleasure to be owned by! He is extremely
tolerant of smaller animals (see thumbnails) and together with Murphy
raised a very boisterous (putting it mildly) Ms Chatty! Many other
females that would not get along with other dogs all get along with
Gunner. Yet, if need be - Gunner will stand his ground - he is after all
a Male Great Pyrenees! |
|
He is of true Pyrenean type and has been featured
in the RACP - French national magazine for Pyrenean Dogs (see “At The
Shows”). Gunner as with all our pyrs comes from slow maturing lines
and was shown on a limited basis where he attained his championship at
age 3 ½ (with back to back majors at the Blue Grey Cluster - Harrisburg
Shows). |

Gunner holds the qualities in which one looks for in a
Pyrenees. He is of excellent type; not heavily boned nor light boned,
correct eye and expression, tight lips, wonderful pigment, correct
working coat, correct movement, and to quote the well respected French
Judge, Mr. Alain Pecoult, “a head without defect”. Gunner can also
be seen around the country in various drawings used for Specialty Fund
Raisers and Prints (limited editions, prints for clothing, garments, and
National Specialty Throws). |
|
It is our hope that Gunner will pass along his
wonderful traits and will only be bred to a female that we feel he
can contribute those fine qualities. Stud Service is
available to those females who have been health screened and OFA
rated for hips and elbows. |
